Gallus - a brand with tradition
For over 125 years, the brand Gallus has been standing for high quality men’s shoe fashion. For this reason, Gallus is able to look back on a long and successful company history: 1880 – Gallus is founded in the district of Viersen by the Vogels family. 1970 – The construction of a second factory in Kärnten is completed. 1979 – Already nine years later, Gallus applies for a patent for the brand Liberty, rising from ordinary shoe manufacturer to comfort and function shoe manufacturer. 1997 - the Gallus Group is taken over by a Dutch company. At this time, about 1,000 employees produce 2 million shoes per year.
2000 the German manufacturing site is closed and the complete production moved to Austria.
2005 the brand is taken over by Dosenbach-Ochsner AG.
